Nigerian Pop Artiste Rema Cuts His Trademark Dreads For The EndSARS Campaign.

The pop artiste Rema has cut his trademark dreads for the #EndSARS campaign which has engulfed the country.

Divine Ikubor (born 1 May 2000), known professionally as Rema, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and rapper. In 2019, he signed a record deal with Jonzing World, a subsidiary of Mavin Records. He rose to prominence with the release of the song “Iron Man”, which appeared on Barack Obama’s 2019 summer playlist.

The 20-year-old made his new look public in photos shared on Twitter.

“Dreads don’t mean I’m a criminal #EndSARS ✊,” the ‘Iron Man’ singer wrote on Saturday.

Young people in dreads were easy targets for operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) who label them internet fraudsters.
