Emeritus Pope Benedict XVI fell ill.
The Emerutus pope is 93 years old, he is seriously ill after he returned to the Vatican from Germany where he went to see his brother that also seriously sick. He is barely heard in his first public appearance and his infected with shingles .
Seewald said Benedict was optimistic when the pair spoke on Saturday, when he said he might pick up writing again if his strength returns.
